Dr. Blumenfeld completed his residency in OB/GYN at the OSUWMC in 1989. Upon which he joined the general division of the OB/GYN department. In 1995, he was named the director of the general division until 2010. In 2009, he started the Center for Women's Health. The center focuses on multidisciplinary services for Women's Health including clinical care, education and Research. He was the clinical director from 2009 until 2017, the deputy director until 2019 and now the medical director. While practicing OB/GYN for the first 16 years, his clinical practice has always focused on complex gynecology and U/S and minimally invasive surgery. He started a gynecological U/S clinic to provide teaching for residents in 1989, which continues to this day. He has been active in MIS since the early 90s and robotic assisted surgery since 2005. He works closely with The James cancer genetics and the Stephanie Spielman breast center in providing care for Patients at high risk for gynecological pathology.
